Not an academic exercise.
A real deliverable for a real business.
The spine of the entire year.
The Capstone starts in week one and continues to graduation.
Each fellow identifies a consequential strategic question facing their enterprise. The integrated PESTEL lens frames the decision, the four domains develop capability, and the eight-city journey tests assumptions and perspective.
The Capstone is not a final assignment added to the programme. It is how the entire programme becomes relevant to the enterprise.
Global exposure is the input. Stronger judgment and a practical enterprise proposition are the purpose.
From question to defence
Bring Your Enterprise Challenge
Identify a consequential business question in week one. Define what must be decided, why it matters and who it affects. This becomes the Enterprise Capstone.
Examine Interconnected Forces
Use the integrated PESTEL lens to investigate political, economic, social, technological, environmental and legal forces together. Examine constraints, dependencies, evidence and assumptions around the decision.
Develop Capability
Build the ability to respond through Leadership, Global Diplomacy, Capital Markets and Emerging Technology. Compare alternatives, their commercial viability and their leadership, stakeholder, technological, environmental and legal trade-offs.
Test Thinking Across Eight Cities
Learn from practitioners and institutions through sessions, visits, workshops and simulations. Revisit assumptions, risks and opportunities. A structured Capstone log captures each geography’s insights and implications for the enterprise.
Refine With a Senior Mentor
After the first module in Bangalore, structured senior-industry mentoring begins. Fellows are matched by enterprise sector and Capstone focus. Monthly, framework-driven conversations challenge and strengthen the proposition.
Present and Defend
The final proposition is reviewed by a leading global professional services firm, then presented and defended before a senior panel of mentors, faculty and invited industry guests at graduation in India.
A basis for decision and action.
The final output is a boardroom-ready proposition for what the enterprise should do next.
Strategic Question
The decision facing the enterprise and why it matters now.
Integrated Assessment
Material interconnected forces, evidence and assumptions.
Options and Trade-offs
Alternatives, benefits, costs, risks and consequences.
Recommendation
The preferred response and the rationale supporting it.
Path to Action
Priorities, resources, stakeholder commitments, safeguards and progress assessment.
Implementation remains an enterprise decision, not a guaranteed programme outcome. The programme develops judgment and a defensible recommendation; it does not promise enterprise performance.
Illustrative question: Which international market should we enter?
Frame the decision; examine demand, policy and risk; log each geography’s insights; compare market-entry options; and challenge the rationale with a mentor.
Other illustrative questions include where to prioritise AI investment and how to finance growth. These are examples, not completed projects or claimed results.
Six things that stay.

- Stronger judgment on leadership, growth, capital, technology and risk

- A continuing senior-industry mentor relationship
- Lifelong SOGL alumni membership
